A little rest, a lot of fun.

Courtesy of our dear friends the Schells, the band and wives spent a few glorious days at the Big Sandy Lake in Minnesota this week where we hung out, fished, canoed, and jumped off of bridges into muddy waters.
It was a classic American summer holiday I thought.
Josh told me he could easily live there year round, but with only a gas station in sight for miles -I'll settle for short vacations.

Venice Beach, California

This week while in California I had a shoot with hip hop artist 3IZE, who is gearing up for his first live performance
at The Verity Room in Topanga,CA.
For me it is always an exciting challenge to take on something new and different which pushes me to get out of my comfort zones or photo rituals.
I have been in "senior portrait mode" and this was a welcomed chance to get a little bit edgier and moody with my work.
Be it that this is a small step, I like to think that daily steps will lead to giant leaps.

could have, might have, and should have."

The Beginning.....

"There are two mistakes one can make along the road to truth...
not going all the way, and not starting." -G. Siddharta

I have been meaning to start an "official blog" for some while now, and have decided-
that time is and must be now.

To get started: I am Krystle; daughter of Robert and Janet, wife of Joshua, and a woman wholly after adventure. Born in England in 1985 and brought to the US at age 9, I have lived amongst both worlds and never quite figured out which of these was mine or me or where I truly belonged.
That is where the rest of this world comes into the picture.
At 13 I traveled to Southern Africa and visited a foreign land that sparked such a familiar and homely feeling in me, I realized that home, was exploring.
Caskie Stinnett once said, "I travel a lot; I hate my life being disrupted by routine."
That has been my heart's song ever since.
I have been to 25+ countries in the last 22 years and the thirst for culture, pilgrimage, and global understanding has only intensified each leg of the journey.
More than my love for new sights, sounds, cities, slums, trains, and seas, I  am surely a humanist to the core. Completely enamored by people; their diverse life stories and ethnic backgrounds, daily I am in search of truth and tale in each face I come across.

My husband Josh was born to Mike and Ruby in 1984 and was raised in Florida.
Josh has been studying and playing music for over 10 years. Beginning with classical piano, he spent 4 years with a touring choir, and has since learned guitar and drums.
His passion is to bring music with a positive message for kids and to be a role model to those who are considered unreachable.
He is currently signed to Rise Records and tours with his band, Burden of a Day.
Welcome to our world.
